I would have to sit at my piano and try it out for sure, but the key is A flat major or F minor and what you have is a piece of music in the base register. Might not even be written for piano, but another instrument, although I could play it. I had piano lessons for at least 10 years, mainly in the classics and still play now and again today - we have a fully sized electric piano at home. Otherwise a good entry and nicely keyed.
Hi Pat !! I'm glad someone could actually tell me the answer to my question. I photographed this manuscript in a Welsh museum, but I didn't make a note of what it was or who had written it. If you can read it enough to play it, let me know what it's like :-))
To think I was taught how to write music like this in the convent and have forgotten all of what I learnt. Shame on me! I love the photo, it brings back some nice memories.
Hummm, not a easy piece to play at all. :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks complicated to me!!

Deletelooks like they are upside down? lol I can't read it either
ReplyDeletegreat take on the theme!
Thanks Danette :-)) I think it's the right way up, as I can see notations such as 'allegretto'. I've no idea what the music is though.
DeleteCreative interpretation of this week's phrase.
ReplyDeleteThanks DL :-))
DeleteI only read music minimally.. this looks like a challenging piece for my skills! Funny - my most recent post is "key" related, as well!
ReplyDeleteHi Amanda. It looks very complicated to me, but that's because I don't read music notation at all :-))

DeleteI don't read music, but visually its a very pleasing image.
ReplyDeleteThanks Loretta :-)) It wasn't easy to photograph, as it was in a glass case. Thankfully I managed to avoid any reflection.
