Picture Perfect: CALL OF THE WILD

Time once again for PICTURE PERFECT. This week our host is Gary The Gator, who has chosen the theme of 'CALL OF THE WILD'.

I have so many shots I could have used, but this is one of my faves. Many folks say that the lion is the king, but to me this creature is even more magnificent.

"Tiger, tiger, burning bright,
in the forests of the night,
  what immortal hand or eye,
  could frame thy fearful symmetry?"

~William Blake~

    1. Thanks Lynda. It was taken using a good zoom, but no enlarging/cropping. This is as it was out of the camera.

    1. Thanks :-)) There was a white tiger where this guy was, but he was curled up asleep behind some rocks, so couldn't get a very good shot of him.

  14. Now THIS is what I would call a Perfect Shot Mitch. No editing or anything. Really Awesome.

My heart breaks knowing there are not many left in the wild and yet man keeps hunting them though that is illegal.
You never see Panthers or Chitas anymore, soon you won't see the most beautiful of them all. The Tiger. It is very very sad.

    1. Thanks Shayna. Yes,more needs to be done to protect the big cats. Just ask Marianne, she posted an important blog about the trade in lion bones on her page a few days ago. This outrageous trade must be stopped!!!

  15. Fantastic Tiger shot , Mitch. Strangely enough not very far from us, there is a Lion Whisperer, who has now taken some Tigers in, to try breed them, to help the species , as they are nearly extinct in their natural habitat. Out of 9 subspecies only 6 are still around. My guess is this is a Bengal Tiger?

    1. Thanks Marianne. Yes, he's a Bengal. As I was saying to Shayna (above), more needs to be done to protect all the large cat species before it's too late. I hope that 'Lion Whisperer's' project to help the tigers is successful.
