Another Year Older.........

Yes folks, on this day ~cough~ years ago, the world endured a most traumatic event. I was born!!!  Another year has passed, but I don't feel any different. Birthdays at my age are pretty much the same as any other day!!

I know I've done this before on Multiply, but I thought it might be fun to do again, particularly for those of you who didn't know me back then:

Mitch Through The Ages (obviously many of the old pre-digital photos are scanned, so are not good quality). They are in chronological order. The approx dates can be found by putting the cursor over each photo.

  1. I just love 1964 - how every mother would love their son to be LOL. I didn't know you were a December child like me as well. Must be something special about being born in December. Great selection. I think Mr. Swiss photos growing older ran in a parallel way. I remember when we were married a few years, he had long sideburns, colourful tapered shirts with large collars. Almost flower power (although he was born many years earlier - 1939)

    1. As you can see in the subsequent photos, I rarely dressed that dapper as an adult!! LOL. Even now I'm more of a jeans & t-shirt kind of person.

  10. Oh wow I enjoyed your post very much. Happy Birthday-I know as we get older, birthdays are not usually as much fun, but I know I still think back on some my parties as a child. My mom always cooked and baked everything from scratch, but on our birthdays she would order a special cake from the small town Belgian bakery for each of our birthdays-that was always so special.
    enjoy your day Mitch

    1. Thanks Kathy :-)) As a child I never really wanted a birthday party. I always asked my mom if we could go out and try some special foods, like Chinese or Indian. Back in those days they we a real treat for a young boy with a taste for the exotic!! LOL. And guess what I had for dinner on my birthday this year? Yup, Chinese food!! LOL. Some things stay with you for life.

  12. A belated Happy Birthday from me ... my favourite photo was the 1994 one with you in a leather jacket. Great photo and I don't know if I would have recognised a younger Mitch.

  13. Fabulous, wonderful! Love the picture of you in the motorcycle jacket. You must have had to beat the girls off with a stick. Weren't we all passionate at that age, full of piss and vinegar? And weren't we all cute as little buttons as children, like you in the vest? I hope you had a great day. (Oh, I see Charlie also likes the leather jacket too - it's a nice shot.) Happy Birthday a day or two late.

    1. Thanks Benni :-)) I think I rebelled against that 'cute' look when I became a teenager. Since then I've always been a jeans & t-shirt person.

  15. Eventually made it over here, sitting here in jammies, seeing you chide me for not visiting LOL Wished you already by email, but must say , these photos does make it seem as if we have known you for ever. You aged very well, laughing at the hippie look, you must be way younger than me ........how old now or is it how young????????? *smile* In 1986, I was a respectable mother with a stepchild of 8 and Michelle of 5 and pregnant with the twins, born in April 1987. Soooo funny, maybe we should all do a birthday blog like this, fun to see and get to know each other better

    See you later.
