Images And Words #192: Travel Photos

It's Week 192 of IMAGES & WORDS. This week our host is Sue, who has chosen the theme of 'Photos From Your Travels'.

I have so many photos from my travels, deciding on one only was rather difficult. In the end I chose this photo of The Cabins, in the Valley Of Fire State Park, Nevada. They were built in the 1930's, of the same stone as the surrounding rocks and cliffs that give the park it's name, to provide shelter for travellers passing through the area. These days they are a place of interest for visitors to the park, with a nearby picnic area and even (would you believe?) a wedding ceremony site. Despite the intrusion of modern roads, it's still a beautifully rugged, unspoiled landscape.

    1. Thanks Amalie. Stepping inside the cabins from the desert heat outside is a very welcome relief. They are small, so easy to heat up in colder night-time conditions
