  1. Both photos are exquisite! And love the subtle touches of shadow on the petals in the second photo!

  2. Just gorgeous! The petals looks like silk paper blowing in the wind. Is that a poppy?

    1. Thanks Jannibele :-))

It's not a poppy, I believe it's a type of rose. It's common name is 'Gum Rock Rose'

  3. Delicious, both flower and photo.
    A rose?
    Does it smell?
    Have a nice evening,

  7. very nice, I like the bottom one, the contrast between the white and dark red is very striking.

    1. Thanks Loretta :-)) I've started doing more 'comparitive shots' these days. Although I prefer shooting macro, I know some folks prefer to see the whole flower, so now I usually do both, or a series of shots at various distances.

  8. So pretty, I love both photos. I find white flowers so hard to shoot for some reason ... maybe it reflects the light too much? Thanks for visiting our poppy field :).

    1. Thanks Bi Ti :-)) I've never had a problem shooting white flowers, but one of my contacts told me recently that they have the same problem as you. I do have problems with certain shades of bright red in strong sunlight, however. This makes me think it might be down to the sensor used by each camera manufacturer.
