I don't partake in this as I just do not have the time, but look in on the entries. Lovely photos Mitch as always. I particularly like the moorhen, the first real live moorhen I have seen. I used to shoot them down in a computer game. They were pictured as being a bit stupid and simple minded, but they are lovely little birds.
Thanks Pat :-)) Unusually for a water-bird, Moorhens do not have webbed feet. Their feet look too big for the rest of them, giving the impression of being ungainly. Maybe that is where the impression came from. They move pretty quickly, too....they are one of the more difficult of the water-birds to photograph well, particularly when they are up on dry land and walking around.
lol...........now this really is aahhhhhhhh post, especially that poor little baby blackbird who is soaking wet, I love that post, just beautiful, and tonns of ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
