Thursday's theme at NatureFootstep is 'Winged'. For all things 'winged', but not necessarily 'feathered' (flying insects are welcome!!)

  14. what a fantastic colour he is. I actually hate flies, most creepy crawlies I cope with very well, some I'm quite fond of, but flies, they are an abomination. However....................seeing the detail on the wings, the colour of his body and even the little furry bit around his rear end makes me think even flies have redeeming features..............thanks Mitch, what a brilliant shot.

    1. Thanks Loretta :-)) They may not be the most pleasant of creatures, but they make great subjects for macro shots. Since starting to take macros I've discovered there are a lot more types of fly than I realised.

    1. Hi Jesh. I don't think this is a 'June Bug', it's a variety of housefly.
