When you're in an airplane, cruising at 35,000 feet, do you ever think about the void between yourself and the ground? Does it make your stomach lurch?
I've only flown a few times and can honestly say my insides were screaming and my mind was filled with 'what ifs'. I was always overcome with relief once the plane landed....so yes, not only have I wondered but I lived it! I do love your response to the prompt...awesome photo and words I can so relate to!! wonderful, Mitch!!
Thanks Mandy :-)) I wouldn't say I'm a frequent flyer.......just one return trip a year across the Atlantic. The thought will cross my mind once on each trip, I get a little lurch, then I forget it and settle back.
Yes Mitch, definitely. Every time I fly (to London usually) I have a funny feeling when I realise how much empty space is between the soles of my feet and the ground below (if we are not flying over the channel). Love that photo, you caught the suns rays perfectly on the plane chassis
LOL I try not to think about it...even though I am afraid of heights. I do always try to sit in an aisle sit though, apparently you sat by the window, ,great shot!
Thanks Belita :-)) It does cross my mind a little on every flight, but I soon forget and relax. I'm usually too busy either looking out the window, watching a movie or just sleeping :-))

ReplyDeleteThanks Pat :-)) I'm actually a little surprised, I'd have thought you'd be someone who isn't all that bothered by flying.

DeleteNeverrrr , even though I was once in a tirbulance which was quite dangerous .
ReplyDeleteI've been in my fair share of turbulence, too. It doesn't bother me, it's something I expect when flying.
DeleteNever, never. From the moment I get on board and take my seat, I easily fall asleep...
