Late Autumn Colour

I had a chance to go out with my camera for a change today, when the sun put in a surprise appearance!! It's been one of the wettest years on record here in Wales, it's rained all through summer and most of autumn. Photo opportunities have been few and far between, so it was great to get out. Despite it being almost the middle of November, most of the leaves are still on the trees. Most have turned colour, but some are still surprisingly green.  I went to the local Wetlands boardwalk and managed to get some rather nice late autumn colour. These are a few of my faves, the full set is in a slideshow at the bottom of the post.

    1. Thanks Belita. Do the leaves of the trees in Portugal not change colour at all?

  6. Wonderful captures. I think autumn is the most rewarding time of the year for photos. As you say some leaves are still on the trees. some are green, and some are autumn colours. Same here. I have cleared one of the gardens but the other still has too many leaves staying up. Must get my camera out, but we too have had the wet season. Now it is drying up a bit.

    1. Thanks Pat. I was quite lucky, as it seems the trees have decided to start shedding the leaves in earnest today, there are lots of them suddenly!!

  8. A wonderful collection, I love those where you do the backlit effects. The colours are stunning, very few trees here change colours, so this is a treat to see. You even caught a fly on 2) Still Green *smile*

  10. Lovely photographs Mitch ~ I've finally managed to catch up with a few people's blogs. Life got in the way yesterday ...

I've noticed the beech leaves seem to be really yellow this year. I have a photograph on Instagram which is basically yellow leaves on the trees and [dead] orange/brown ones on the floor ~ they're quite something this time around.

    1. Life has a habit of doing that sometimes!! Thanks for visiting and having a look at the photos. I was surprised to find so many trees with most of the leaves still hanging on.
