It's Week 198 of IMAGES AND WORDS. This week our host is Milli, who has chosen the theme of 'Our Feathered Friends'.
The difficulty I had with this theme was which image to use!! When I moved up to my current camera, with it's fantastic zoom, bird shots became a favourite type of photography for me. In 2011, I did more bird photography than just about anything else. I took over 800 shots, both in the UK and the US. My chosen photo I took in Florida.
Milli has also invited us, if we wish, to post a bird video. I made a video out of my own favourite bird shots I took in 2011. It's rather long at eight and a half minutes, but I would appreciate you having a look if you have the time. There is accompanying music, so turn on your speakers. Thanks.
I'm watching the video and listening to the beautiful music... I'll drop the comment at the end of it...
ReplyDeleteThank you, Belita. I wasn't sure if anyone would want to watch a vid that long!!
DeleteNice shot of that bird.. can hear its melody... You had a great idea... very nice video clip... so many beautiful bird shots! Good choice of music to accompany it! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThanks again, Belita :-)) Actually, that bird is not very melodic, it's song is rather raucous!! I'm glad you enjoyed the vid and my choice of music to go with it :-))
Deleteabsolutely awesome shot !!

DeleteThat is a beautiful shot and he is really singing top pitch. I can see the notes coming out of his beak.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pat :-))
Deletegreat photo of a bird singing mitch! love the quote too!
ReplyDeleteYour photo is awesome ...it appears to me that the bird is calling to a parent for a feeding...whatever it's doing those tail feathers are mighty impressive!!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your video....so many different birds you have there....so well done and a fantastic compilation!!
Thanks Linda :-)). Actually, I think the bird was calling to it's mate, who wasn't too far away.
DeleteGlad you enjoyed the video :-))
Beautifully captured singing bird.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great shot, Mitch! I wondered what bird it was; do you know?
ReplyDeleteThanks Neil. I'm afraid I haven't been able to identify what variety it is.

DeleteAn excellent presentation Mitch...I am coming back tomorrow for a look on my large screen.
ReplyDeleteThe photo chosen which I know must have been a difficult decision for you to make is in my estimation perfect!
I love your quote it fits perfectly.
To be honest Mitch I think your bird photography is top notch!
Keep up the great work and keep those videos rolling along too!
Many thanks Milli :-)) 2012, in contrast, was a really poor year, not just for bird photos, but photography in general. It was one of the wettest years on record here in the UK, so a lot less opportunity than usual. I'm hoping 2013 will be a much better year!!
DeleteA stunning main shot mate and an awesome video very very nice work;)Images and Words
ReplyDeleteThanks, mate!!. I appreciate it :-))
