Picture Perfect Competition #6: Winter Wonderland


It's the sixth and final week of the PICTURE PERFECT winter competitions. This week our host is Heather, who has chosen the theme of 'Winter Wonderland'. 

 I live on the coast in the far west of Wales, and rarely get snow. While the rest of the UK can get quite a bit, and has done several times this winter, I usually just get rain. The last time snow fell enough to even settle here was 2010. My shot was taken that year, at Manorbier beach.  One of those rare combinations you can only get in an area like this: seaweed and snow!!

    Very unique! I can't image seeing snow at the beach. My one chance for that I missed.

      Hi Moni !! Long time no see!! Yes, it's quite an odd thing to see snow on the beach, but it makes for good photo oppotunities!! LOL.

    To me this is amazing!!
    An interesting photo Mitch of this unusual combination.
    There are many different interpretations for the theme this week.

    Must be amazing to live there, Mitch. I saw a movie with Wales as the location and the scenery was breathtaking. This combination is one of a kind.

    Mitch be honest, you snuck out onto the beach and sprinkled castor sugar onto that seaweed ;) jokes aside, its a fab pic..love the colour contrasts ..good job you

    Great shot, Mitch. It snowed on the beach in Oregon on our honeymoon 45 years ago in January! Rare sight there, too.
