  7. That is a photo, fantastic details. The bird does not look very happy. I think he is annoyed. If he had known it would have been such a details close-up I am sure he would have had a trim first of all.

  8. now I know this is going to sound a bit silly silly................but that eye looks very, very human. OK so the rest of the face is about as far away from human as possible, but that eye.............yep it looks as if it could be part of an old mans face.
    And of course its a fantastic shot, full of detail.

    1. Thanks Loretta. On the day I took this shot, I also got good close-ups of two other flightless birds....the ostrich and the emu. I would have thought that all the large flightless birds would have the same kind of eye, but each one is quite different. The ostrich had very dark eyes with large pupils, the emu had orange eyes, and the rhea, as you can see, has quite a human-like eye.
