Picture Perfect ~ TWO

No need to tell you twice, it's PICTURE PERFECT time!! This week our host is Heather, who has chosen the theme of 'TWO'.

Well, this was difficult, I have so many shots I could have used, but this is one of my old favourites. Two bees sharing lunch at a 'Table For Two'.

  2. I agree. It's a fabulous shot. I can't understand how you folks get bees to pose like that. I have tried and tried and tried to capture bees on flowers and failed miserably every time. And you've got TWO of 'em. Life's not fair, I tell you.

    1. Thanks Bryce. Takes a lot of practice and patience to get shots like this. A camera with a good macro lens is a good start, obviously. I always look for places that attract a lot of bees, or other insects, and position myself close to it and wait for them to come to me. Chasing around after them can waste a lot of time and effort. I practice a shallow-breathing technique that minimises any movement which is likely to disturb the bees. Even after all that, I probably get a return of one good shot like this for every ten taken.

Each time I see your close-up shot, the desire to buy a close-up lens gets strong. :)

    1. Thanks Sophie :-)). A lot of modern cameras come with a good macro facility already built in. That's why I always use Olympus cameras, they have very good lenses for macro work.
